Director Reinaldo Marcus Green has already confirmed his knack for making powerful biopics with Oscar nominee King Richard. Bob Marley, he says, was a different discipline altogether. "How do you make a movie about someone everybody thinks they know? For me, it wasn't so much the script for the film that was important, but the rights to Marley's songs, and therefore the ability to have them in the film. They are the key to understanding his incredible life," says director Green.


The film captures the most interesting part of the life of one of the greatest musical icons of the 20th century. It celebrates Bob Marley, a man who loved freedom, Jamaica and, most importantly, reggae music.
