The winter term at the turn of the year is again reserved for glassmaking at the Nisa Factory. This year, a quite exceptional collection of the most recent glass works by top artists is presented. More than 70 works by forty glass artists are on display. The richness of the glassmaking tradition, the inventiveness and ability of its creators is evident from the variety of techniques used, from metallurgical glass to blown, cut, engraved and painted glass.
The exhibition Bilance 2024 wants to convincingly demonstrate that this region with a rich historical tradition has a permanent inventive potential for the active development of glass art not only in our present but also in the near future. Among the exhibits on display are also selected graduation theses from the Iron and Brod Glass School and selected final bachelor's and master's theses in the field of glass by students from the Department of Design of the Technical University of Liberec in Jablonec. The confrontation of the works of emerging artists with the work of prominent and world-renowned personalities from the local region will undoubtedly offer a great opportunity for the sharing of generational perspectives on original glass. As stated by the author and curator Oldřich Palata, "the exhibition has a common and unifying condition for all exhibitors - the exhibited works must date from the year 2024. This is a strong motivation for the creation and realization of completely new works in the field of the author's distinct concept of glass art."
Jakub Berdych, Pavlína Čambalová, Martin Grosman, Marta Havlíčková, Martin Hlubuček, Vladěna Klumparová, Kateřina Krausová, Jiří Kučera, Petra Kučerová, Zuzana Kynčlová, Robert Lenner, Zdeněk Lhotský, Martina Mokošínová, Ladislav Oliva Jr, Tomáš Plesl, Oldřich Plíva, Anna Polanská, Václav Řezáč, Olga Staňková, Markéta Šílená, Ivana Šrámková, Martin Štefánek, Barbora Štefánková, Lukáš Šulc, Lucie Švitorková, Eva Vlasáková, Ondřej Kábele, a student of the Technical University of Liberec, Berenika Mičková, Vendula Štanclová, Elisabeth Šulcová, Josefína Váchová, Zuzana Zemanová, and Anna Čermáková, Eliška Daňková, Ema Dušková, Kateřina Krouská, Jan Machek, Erika Pašková from the Secondary School of Glassmaking in Železný Brod.
