Belly Hole Freak's background lies in the roots of rural, raw and dirty blues.

An instinctive and deep sound enriched with different colors, rhythms and shades of boogie, rhythm'n'blues, country, bluegrass mixed with heavier blues-rock sounds, performed live with lots of energy and clear rock'n'roll attitude is played.

You can hear the influence of artists like Howlin Wolf, Captain Beefheart, Robert Johnson, Tom Waits or bands like Cream, Allman Brothers, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Cactus, The Bluesbreakers to name a few.

Energy, introspective research, the unconscious and spirituality are among the main sources of inspiration, a channel of surreal communication, a free language that sometimes uses invented words but with such a concrete meaning given through a very expressive interpretation.

For Belly Hole Freak this is the way to feel and live the BLUES, the way to break with the mold with full freedom to give voice to the soul.

Belly Hole Freak is Massimiliano "Belly" with guitar, voice, handmade foot board, hi hat, cymbals, cowbell tambourine, kazoo and anklets. All instruments are played simultaneously in his one-man shows.
