Josef Mysliveček "Full of fire, spirit and life," were Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's words for Josef Mysliveček's oratorio Adam and Eve. Such favourable words about the work of his contemporary were quite exceptional in the case of the extremely critical Mozart. He drew attention to a work of high quality and value. He particularly appreciated Mysliveček's melodic inventiveness, as well as the clarity and lucidity of the musical language. The work was first performed in Florence in 1771. Czech audiences have not yet had the opportunity to hear the oratorio live. For the first time in the Czech Republic, the DFXŠ Opera Ensemble will present a stage performance of the work.
