Marley and Walczak come together
Marley and Walczak come together
»"A template was written for my life, I couldn't have come up with a better one."«
It's true, musician and music producer Krystian K-Jah Walczak from Bogatynia has recently started to collaborate with Bob Marley's family. No other Pole has ever managed to do that before. Moreover, he did not even aspire to this cooperation. It was singer Sharon Marley who asked for his music a few weeks ago.
The result is a track they have prepared together that will be on their latest album. And more productions by the native of Bogatynia can't be ruled out. Krystian Walczak, a musician and music producer for whom Bob Marley is a great inspiration, began his adventure with music many years ago. As a child, he helped his parents, who ran a pub in Bogatynia, where concerts were also held. Back then, as a young boy, he would exchange high fives with musicians like Grabaż from Pidżama Porno, Dawid Portasz from Jafia Namuel or the band Post Regiments. A few years later the pub closed and Krystian started his intensive involvement with music. So much so, that at the age of 22 he took a trip to Jamaica to record an album in a studio where Bob Marley also recorded. All the family's savings went into this trip. Founded in Jamaica, Rastasize is one of the most outstanding Polish reggae music projects and one of the best releases. The album Rastasize was born from the union of Polish musicians and Jamaican legends, which conquered the world in 2010. K-Jah, the man from Bogatynia, thus became the first Pole who managed to record an album in Jamaica. The albume is outstanding and appreciated by experts and critics alike.
A stay of several weeks in Jamaica and the collaboration with the musicians of Bob Marley continue to bear fruit. The music composed by K-Jah has inspired artists from all over the world. Strangely enough, you won't hear it on Polish commercial radio stations, although many of his productions are real gems. Fellow musicians are enthusiastic about his compositions, including Luciano, Sara Lugo, Christos DC, Droop Lion or Tamika, singer and wife to one of the most popular German musicians - Gentleman. The couple recorded the song "Defenders of the Light" together to the music of Walczak. There are many productions that came out of the K-Jah studio, and surprisingly, most of them have spread all over the world. In the United States, in Jamaica, Germany and Africa. His compositions often border on soul or pop. They are polished and masterfully mixed. This is appreciated by artists around the world.
From the countless proposals for her album, Sharon Marley chose the collection of the musician from Bogatynia. She wrote an email, got the music and a few days later the whole song titled "Butterflies in the Sky" was ready. It will be released later this year.
An album by another outstanding singer, Droop Lion, is also in preparation and will base its tracks on K-Jah's music. At the same time, preparations are underway for K-Jah's next release: a riddim, an instrumental on which various singers from around the world will sing their songs.
