For children from 6 to 11 years old we organize a traditional summer suburban camp full of painting, drawing, creating and interesting trips and excursions. We take on larger projects with the children that require preparation and more time to complete. So, step by step we work our way through the theme, teaching the children not only to master the technique but also to engage their own personal understanding of the world. We work with the art education concept of "Real Creativity", which leads children to express their own creative thinking. The children come to the studio every morning and go home again in the afternoon. Half of the day is spent in the studio doing art work and half of the day is spent on trips, playing and creating outside. We divide the activities into three creative blocks and determine their content according to need and weather. We go to a nearby cafeteria for lunch and, weather permitting, have our lunch break at the playground or park. This year we will again include a day trip from the Czech Cottage to the Forest Swimming Pool full of games and outdoor activities. Traditionally, we will go to the gallery and to the studio of a local artist. The children will be divided into two groups according to age during art work, so that the art assignments match their abilities and needs. They will then all be together during games and outings. On the last day of camp, we will hold an exhibition in the studio with an opening reception where parents can see the work created.

ART CAMP for children 6-11 years old
