Successor to the popular café house quartet

The newly founded “Görlitzer Salonquartett” emerged from the “Görlitzer Caféhaus Quartett”, which played very successfully throughout Upper Lusatia until the 2022/¬23 season.

In October 2023, the long-time pianist and director of studies at the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Theater Görlitz-Zittau, Olga Dribas, founded the “Görlitzer Salonquartett” to continue the long-standing tradition of café house and salon music in Upper Lusatia.

Together with the cellist Leon Szostakowski, who has been active in this profession for years, and the two young violinists Lucía López Borrego and Ekaterina Khoroshilova, they would like to dedicate themselves to the inexhaustible source of cheerful light music that characterized the café houses and music salons of Vienna and all of Europe, especially in the 19th century . Famous composers like Johann Strauss, Franz Lehar, Robert Stolz and many others make the whole world turn sky blue when the sky is full of violins and the night is not just for sleeping! The four outstanding musicians delight the audience with waltzes, tangos and Hungarian csárdás until they enthusiastically clap along to the indestructible Radetzky March at the end!

Of course, the “Görlitzer Salonquartett” will also occasionally invite well-known singers as guests, who will enrich the newly founded quartet's cozy café afternoons with popular hits and operetta melodies.
